I am from a noisy neighborhood where kids of all ages would play for endless hours in the cul-de-sac.
I am from large family gatherings on Christmas Day waiting for my dad's freshly baked, homemade lasagna.
I am from long saturdays spent at the Ashley Falls soccer field playing in and watching soccer games.
I am from dying easter eggs pastel colors at my grandma's house while watching cousins fight over whose turn it was.
I am from spending every Thanksgiving in an empty airplane travelling back from a family vacation in Hawaii.
I am from quietly sneaking into my sister's room past bedtime to play with our dolls, hoping our parents would not catch us.
I am from taking long adventurous walks in the canyon with my golden retriever after school to meet my friend at our spot by the cell tower.
I am from picking the very small and unripe fruit off of the apple tree in the backyard while my mom yelled at me not too.
I am from half melted Baskin Robbins ice cream cake for every birthday.
I am from sisters picking silly fights over stealing each other's new clothes.
I am from trying to stay up all night at sleepovers, and nighttime visits to the park across the street.
I am from baking sugar cookies at Grandma Penny’s house on Christmas eve and decorating them with festive sprinkles for Santa Claus to eat.
"I Am From"

I enjoy this poem because I believe this is a very important concept to understand to make you a more creative minded individual. When you dream you think of things that may only exist in your imagination, but they lead you to think big instead of doing things by the books. There is no right way to dream and when you dream there is no boundaries because you can dream of anything you want. Dreaming allows you to go into another place and imagine things in a place where no one can tell you no. When you dream it makes everything more interesting because crazy, seemingly impossible ideas can turn into reality. I think of dreaming as an escape from the real world because you can go anywhere just for that time and then wake up back to reality. In addition, dreaming makes you experience things before you see them in real life. This means sometimes when you dream you can imagine things that you have not even experienced yourself. You can also reflect on things that have already happened. It gives you a way to make sense of all the things that occurred during your day. When you stop dreaming is when you begin to close off your mind. Life becomes more black and white and things are more simplistic. When you fall asleep at night, you can not control what you see or experience through your dreams. This vulnerability creates a deeper meaning to what you envision when you close your eyes. Dreaming can not be scientifically explained, it is a phenomenon to all; the stories we see last seconds when we attempt to replicate the events, but seem to be much longer when we dream them out. When you wake in the morning almost all of your dreams cannot be recollected, but the ones that you can recall are the ones that I believe mean something significant. A dream has the opportunity to be achieved and to achieve a dream doesn't mean you have to reach exactly what you had envisioned. Rather, it means striving to reach that dream until you have come to a place where you are happy and content and you know you have done your best.
